Lá Du Rusá (2017)

By seeking to present congado personalities outside of their traditional ceremonial garments and in their everyday contexts, the series "Lá du Rusá" offers an intimate look at these dancers. The informal reunion provided the opportunity to present each participant with their photograph previously produced in the series "Dançantes." This approach, by highlighting the individuals behind the ceremonial garments, further singularizes the congadeiro individuals, presenting the richness of their identities outside of the ritualistic context.

The initiative also explores the dimension of collecting and circulation through the printing of stamps. The postage stamp, historically used to prove payment for postal services, takes on a unique role here. By stamping the images of the congadeiros, it becomes a form of paper ambassador, carrying with it the cultural narrative and unique representation of these individuals to various destinations.
