Barraca Rusá(2108)
The "Barraca Rusá (2018)" consists of an installation set up during the Festa do Rosário do Serro, MG, Brazil. Side by side with the hundreds of other merchants who cross the region with their products. In it, we revisit, with the guidance of Heloisa Marilaque, who worked for more than a decade at the Festa do Serro, the traditional way of making the booth using materials such as wood, bamboo, cardboard, and wheatpaste images. Its internal spaces were configured as important places of conviviality, encounters, and community affections. As Mr. Bastiãozinho das Lage, the oldest Catopês dancer in the Serro congado groups, said, after they fulfilled their duties to Our Lady of Rorasio, "the zabumba pounded and the feathers flew." meaning that they danced through the night.
The tent housed the exhibition "Rusá Dançantes", in monoculars (keychain viewers), which was open to visitors during the festival and also the action Retratista de Quermesse, where more than 300 people were photographed for free and about 200 monoculars were distributed to the portrayed during 4 days of the Festa de Nossa Senhora do Rosário do Serro in 2018.
